IMO what you overlooked is that nothing goes up in a straight line. Commods might be in a 10-15 year bull-cycle, but that doesn't mean there won't be drawdowns along the way. So, if you're trading short-term, you shouldn't be all in; you should size your positions and set stop losses. Otherwise, if you're investing for a medium to long-term, this may just be a blip.
Also, while supply is very constrained, demand is being dampened as well. I think you've said yourself that the cure for high prices is high prices. Strong dollar, rising rates, and slowing economy will all weigh on prices. Time also plays against inflation, as new investment and exploration slowly continues to pour in.
As far as normies dumping the oil futures by 10%, that's just silly. Normies i.e. retail barely have anything invested. To move a commodity market that much, you need big whales with large capital. Hedge funds, institutional investors, private equity, etc.
The price of something on the screen is a balance of probabilities being weighed in real time as new data comes in. So, if you're calling the smart money normies, perhaps they know something we don't? It's worth staying humble because if we don't, the market will always fund a way to humble us.
Initially the Australian government was picking up the tab on the 2 week quarantine.
As the covid hysteria dragged on and the costs rose they announced that from such and such future date anyone purchasing a ticket to Australia would have to pay for their own 2 week quarantine.
Point is that anyone who paid for their own 2 week quarantine did so understanding that this would be the case when they bought their ticket.
