Beijing urges Taipei to 'abandon the plot of 'Taiwan independence''

China has promised to counter any move towards Taiwan’s independence as the Taiwanese president, Tsai Ing-wen, meets with several American officials, including US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who recently called to increase arms sales to Taipei.
