Germany has brought charges against a Ukrainian national over the Nord Stream pipeline sabotage, years after the explosions rocked Europe’s energy security.

Journalism professor Greg Simons joins RT to discuss why he believes the latest move looks like “scapegoating,” questioning whether one Ukrainian suspect could realistically account for such a complex operation. Simons also reacts to Ursula von der Leyen’s claim that Russia “turned off the gas for Europe,” arguing that the EU’s own policies and the Nord Stream sabotage tell a different story.
