The very concept of a black mermaid is absurd. They live in the ocean with little sun. Deep sea creatures are albino due to lack of sun. Also I would prefer a mermaid and not a merman American "woman." A MerMAID is even better. Nothing is more appealing to me than maid uniforms because it's peak femininty and being a truly useful woman as a maid fulfilling womanly duties.
