Why Did We Stop Using Ammonia To Cool Our Homes

Yeah it is a great video. People are always thinking and dteaming up incredible things... Some times I am so impressed, I can't cope.

Yeah way back in once upon a time, when they used "BLUE PRINTS" as a form of paper copies of engineering drawings, and they used a very strong ammonia solution as the transfer medium - something like a giant photocopier that uses ammonia instead of toner, lazers and drums..... Well the ammonia came in a 1 liter or so dark brown bottle... The guy in the drawing office, said "Here - have a sniff - just don't stick your nose right in it." Well I brought my nose, slowly up to the opened bottle and took a decent sniff and "POW!" - That was like lightening bolts going off inside my head....... From then on I had a very clear understanding of why people around and downwind of an ammonia leak - typically from a BIG refrigeration plant, ---- immediately evacuate ------.
