My $5 Kmart cooker works nice - was on special..

The pot fits nicely.

It depends upon how starving you are, but to have a "hot simmering pot" on the desk next to the computer - helps warm you up, helps to keep the room warm, and you can have hot soup / stew / etc., on the go all day.

Like 420-500W - isn't a LOT of cooking heat... but for a small pot, with a liter or so in it... it's a HOT slight bubbling simmer...

The sauce pan could do with a LID...

AND the retarded Chinese who make it, use a CHEAP nasty cast iron for the hot plate, so if it's never run past say 3.5, and oiled slightly, daily, it won't oxidise.... much. Should last for a VERY long time.

Cast iron comes in all sorts of formulations for all sorts of reasons.... This is the nastiest, cheapest, cast iron. It's not really good HEAT resistant (won't oxidise) cast iron that is used for exhaust manifolds and the hot half of turbo charger housings....

But for a SMALL on the desk stove, that is kept at about 3 - 3.5 and it's oiled, daily - it works well.

When the hot plate is turned right up to 5., that is only supposed to be done with a water filled pot on it - other wise the unit gets too hot.

It also evaporates the oil off....

So how have you been doing old man?

Your kind of quiet in the chats.
