An Italian man who volunteered to fight for Russia in Ukraine, has been speaking exclusively to RT.

Going under the call sign 'Max', he signed up to fight after his Russian wife's family became victims of Ukraine's indiscriminate bombing of civilian areas in Lugansk.

He reveals all about his first combat experience, Western double standards when it comes to choosing sides, and why he can't return to Italy.
