El Salvador deploys thousands of soldiers and police in anti-gang crackdown

About 8,000 Salvadoran soldiers and police officers were deployed in one of the largest raids since President Nayib Bukele declared a crackdown on gangs in March 2022. Officers searched houses and stopped civilians at various check-points along the road in the area of Ilobasco, Cabanas.
