Power Consumption in Series Connection
When three 750 W radiant elements rated at 240 VAC are connected in series, the total power consumption decreases significantly. This is due to the way voltage is distributed across each element in a series circuit.

Voltage Division
In a series connection, the total voltage (240 VAC) is divided among the three elements. Each element receives a fraction of the total voltage, which reduces the power consumed by each element.

Total Power Calculation
The total power consumption can be calculated as follows:
Original Total Power:
3×750 W=2250 W3×750W=2250W

Power in Series:
The voltage across each element is 240 V3=80 V3240V​=80V.
The power consumed by each element at 80 V can be calculated using the formula P=V2RP=RV2​.
Since the resistance remains constant, the power consumption drops to roughly one-ninth of the original combined power.

@tarknan: If you "daisy chain" the lights, and run them in series, it reduces the brightness by quite a lot and by the time you get past 2 or 3 of them, then you need 2 or 3 banks to get the original power output, though at a much lower IR frequency, without the dazzling....

@tarknan: Assuming 100W per light - multiply the wattage / resistance by 1/3 = 33 Watts from 3 lights in series, so 3 x 33 Watts = 100 Watts = 9 lights and fittings giving a NICE warm light instead of dazzling. Got to sit close to them to warm up the legs etc.... But in subzero with a blanket over your back and over your legs, SMALL heat inputs can make a HUGE difference.

@tarknan: Yeah "spot heating" just you instead of the whole room, or the whole house is a VERY good way to stay warm, on an extremely low cost basis..... AND when it comes to fucking with heaters that you want to sit right next too without burning..... by getting some high temperature electrical cable - with a woven mineral fiber outer, and some press on terminals, you can wire these elements in series, so instead of 1200W (or what ever) by running the elements in poarallel, you can actually run them in series, which drops the power consumption down to ~400W, and it's a cheerful yellow / red heat that you can sit very close too, just to warm you up, like under the desk etc... If you know your electronics, and your habits, run the elements in series, and use the on / off switch along with the tilt cut out.... and you have a perfectly GOOD "sit close too" type heater. https://sp-africa.com/wp-conte....nt/uploads/2017/03/E

@tarknan: See this is heating using maths.... IF I am the only object in the whole house that wants or needs to stay warm, then the very bright elements are very HOT and they need to be a meter or more away, or I burn from the heat, BUT if I derate the heater by running the elements in series, then they drop their combined power consumption and element temperature down to about 1/3 of the originals, so instead of the heater being a meter or so away from me, heating up a whole heap of space, I can move it to about 1' or 30cm away from my lower legs, and the underside of the seat, while I have blankets over my knees and back - and I stay very warm with very little power consumption. @tarknan: Just wire them up with high temperature mineral fiber coated insulation, with spade connectors, and keep the on off switch and the tilt safety switches in the circuit and bingo - with the insulation on the rooms and the very efficient spot heating - and blankets etc., I am toasty warm in winter and cool enough in summer, and my heating and cooling bills are around 1/4 of everyone elses.... Multiply that by 10 or 20 or 30 years.... I ain't stupid dude.....

FOR me where I live, staying physically active some of the time, and wearing lots of warm clothes, is a lot better than heating, except when it is REALLY cold here are night, it's MID winter and the days are very short and COLD too - then the building cannot be at least "un-chilled" by the bit of midday - to mid afternoon warm air...
