"Noah Barclay, 28, was a 23-year-old electrician apprentice at Algonquin College who worked full time, went to the gym, played hockey, golfed, hunted and fished, and took no medications. He received his first and only Pfizer dose on July 21, 2021 and never had COVID. About a month later he woke with chest pain, collapsed while stretching, and told his mother he thought he was having a heart attack.

At Kemptville Hospital his heart enzyme level was 730 when it should be about 40, and it rose to about 1,100 that night, and he says a nurse told him most men in their 30s do not survive such levels. He spent seven days at the Ottawa Heart Institute alone because of COVID visitor restrictions, on strict bed rest, and says nurses suggested a vaccine cause but doctors never confirmed one. He describes six months without physical exertion, a second frightening episode about four months later while driving, and a recurrence this July 10 when he was diagnosed with myocarditis, after four or five good years.

Barclay says he lives with uncertainty about whether it will happen again, has been hesitant about relationships, and has anxiety. He says he took part in a COVID-19 study at the Ottawa Heart Institute that determined vaccination was the cause. He is now back at work full time with an understanding employer.
