Allison Inquiry | Lisa Lavoie | Day 4 September 11th, 2026
Lisa Lavoie, 68, a retired nurse and former research lab worker in Quebec, was working as a driving instructor four days a week, was very active with hiking and dancing, and took no medication. She received two doses of Pfizer on October 1 and 29, 2021, she says because of social pressure, the Quebec vaccine passport and her work in a car with students, and because she was told it protected her children and grandchildren. She noticed unusual fatigue and breathlessness before the second dose, then woke short of breath, coughing and unable to lie flat, and in January 2022, while in Florida, a clinic told her it was bronchitis. A second visit sent her to the emergency room, where she says fluid was found in her lungs and her heart was working at about 10%, and a nurse told her the condition might be linked to the vaccine because a young man had the same condition.
She spent four days in hospital, then two more weeks adjusting medication before returning to Canada, and says a Sherbrooke cardiologist said the same. Lavoie describes a pacemaker and defibrillator, two arm thromboses, lifelong anticoagulants, a fear of bleeding, arrhythmias and giving up travel. She works 15 hours a week and describes anxiety. She says her Quebec compensation application, filed in October 2022, was only opened in September 2025 with a hearing set for this October, and that Pfizer's reply letter pointed her to Health Canada's approval and Quebec's program. Her testimony is given in French and English interpretation. MPs ask about family.
