They should have bore sighted it - aim the gun by looking through the barrel.... as soon as the target is dead centre... load it and fire.....

It was the physics - of the less than perfect dead centre shot - of the shell hitting the water melons and the tangential ratios of forward physics vs. and inclined angle nose, and the upper sides of a rounded "hard ball" of water - a sort of skipping a stone effect - kind of - and it deflected the round and the ratio of energies, converted that forward momentum into a tumbling motion AND some forward momentum.

It's the last few replays that show just how HARD water is, when hit at speed, and how violently the shell was pitched off it's linear path, as it hit all the water melons..

It's pretty amazing actually.....
