Yeah, you have my "simp-pathy". Not. I also like peace and quiet, which explains why I choose to remain single... and monk mode. No kids (that I know of), but I've had the same toaster for over 30yrs. Bought it used from a thrift store.
Still toasts both sides PERFECTLY, btw. Just have to occasionally clean it out, like most things in life.
