@BloJo: Exactly. You know you are crucified once you get into a marriage and she is given the gravy train to your financial life. Alimony is hell! If you can get out of a marriage with just paying a lump sum (your house and car gone along with it); I would state that it would be a win.

@BloJo: I would take it over paying alimony. In life, I have found monthly payments to be killer over a lump sum. Sure you lose a shit ton in a period of time; however, if you still have a job, you can get back on your feet more easily.
