From my observation, when the media decided to attack the Manosphere, they lumped MGTOW and incels together. They are polar opposites (incels desperately want women, but refuse to do anything to get one, while MGTOWs can easily get and have been with women but are fed up and done with the games) yet the ignorant normies now see them as the same. A few guys I won't name used to prattle on and ban comments from their channels from people who wanted to make a clear distinction as to what MGTOW is. Some called it "gatekeeping". I agree that they wanted to keep the tent big and inclusive to get those bucks.
