I like the less formal approach to wine tasting - "Where is this on the "fantastic to undrinkable shit" spectrum?".
Of course my inner scumbag junkie calculates the alcohol content to $ ratio.....
So the cheap, very drinkable, fortified (alcohol boosted) wines, that cost fuck all and are stoked to the gills with alcohol - were the winners...
Until it all stopped working.
