Vladimir Putin, when answering questions from the press, said Moscow doesn't want a conflict with Europe, but if it comes to it, then Russia is ready. And this statement by Russia's leader triggered uproar in the Western media.

Headlines sprang forward within moments, claiming that Russia is tempted to start a war. Others claimed that Putin directly threatened Europe amid the faltering peace talks. In fact the key word of 'threatened' made an appearance in almost all of the headlines.
