You said it's muggy and the air is so thick. I was in San Francisco and now I'm in Los Angeles. There's no smell or thickness to the air. I travelled by car and no signs of wild fires. The sky is grey but we are not experiencing anything you are. Me thinks there's a scam going on. I have witnessed the orange or yellow sky but nothing else. I thing your state has the real thing while Cali is having something else going on...
