I think around 30 years ago... 25 years ago, it was priced to cost the community around $250,000 to resettle every refugee that came to Australia, that is services, housing, welfare etc.. and the US exchange rate has always been somewhere around 1.4 higher... $1.4 Au doller = $1 US Dollar... and then there has been inflation, etc., etc., etc...
So you really can bankrupt a country by importing lots of migrants - far too many of them...
