UN peacekeepers kill eight civilians and wound dozens as protest turns violent

UN peacekeepers have killed eight civilians and wounded 28 others in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as protesters were decrying the lack of progress in combatting terrorists in the region. Locals say the UN mission hasn’t been doing enough to defend civilians from the M23 insurgent group, which has been staging attacks near the Rwandan border.
