The head of the EU commission comes from the position of German minister of Defence. During her tenure, german soldiers sometimes had to put broomsticks on their vehicles, to make it look like they had machine guns. All because of Mrs minister's budget cuts. Just to show how well aware this woman is of the situation on the ground.
Of course she keeps calling for continued support; her masters use this long-game tactic time and again to destroy a non-conforming nation. Spending other people's money is always fun...
