Train smashes into tank at crossing in South Carolina

Bystanders filmed the moment a train smashed into a trailer carrying an armored vehicle, at a crossing in South Carolina. It’s unclear why the trailer had stopped on the tracks, but it seemed unable to move out of the way as a freight train approached, horn blaring. The train can be seen plowing into the tank, smashing it to pieces, before continuing on its way. Amazingly no injuries were reported, although major roads in the area were forced to close due to the collision.

Although reported as being a tank, one internet user commented that ‘the military vehicle on the trailer is an M109 Paladin Howitzer, not a tank.’ Although he really should have used past tense in this situation.
