This is why when I pull over, I actually pick a quiet dirt road / track / gravelled or dry dirt area, that is WAY off the road.

Here is some of the OLD closed highway....

Seemingly sheltered from the prevailing winds.....

Well out of the way of any vehicles that might crash and or go spearing off the corner etc.

In Australia - there are so many fantastic places to park and camp or rest for a while.... Just avoid flood plains when it's been pissing down and forests etc., when there is a bushfire coming through...
