In his speech at the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, President Putin said that the West's continued attempts to draw Kyiv into NATO are one of the main causes of the Ukrainian conflict. He also pointed out that the crisis was largely caused by the 2014 coup in Kyiv, which was provoked by the West. He emphasized that the reign of Euro-Atlantism is over and that we are now moving toward a multipolar world, where sovereign countries decide for themselves.
