On some levels he not wrong, but on others he is. The bloodlines part likely true, our lizard person hybrid was queen... The "gods" tjemselves were demigods; what we called demigods were quarter god.
Now, Atlantis was real. The problem was there were atleast seven of them. So, when tje French colonized America, citizens from Orlean settled and called it New Orleans. The Pilgrims fleeing The UK specifically England landed and then callit New England. So Atlantis was the same. Each time one was destroyed, they moved to their way point recolonized it building it up
And yet people still believe in left/right politics.
