Before the Mamluks, it was the Ayyubid Empire. Before the Ayyubids, it was the Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem. Before that, the Umayyad and Fatimid caliphates. Before them, the Byzantine Empire. Before the Byzantines, the Sassanids. Before the Sassanids, back to the Byzantines. Before them, the Roman Empire. Before Rome, the Hasmonean Kingdom. Before that, the Seleucid Empire. Before the Seleucids, the empire of Alexander the Great. Before Alexander, the Persian Empire. Before the Persians, the Babylonian Empire. Before Babylon, the kingdoms of Israel and Judah. Before those kingdoms, the united Kingdom of Israel. Before that, the theocracy of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. And before the Twelve Tribes, a collection of independent Canaanite city-states.Throughout history, this land has been ruled by countless powers and empires, yet never by a sovereign Palestinian state. What "destroys democracy" is the changing of federalist ideology and christian basis by racial-socialism and pagan nonsense.
