Popp, I reverse it in my forties... but i was athletic and in the military when younger... had the musculature. Just saying. However, DNA is fifferent but I too am from a diabetic family line or two...

For you'all and the sixteen year old, I'lm tell you what my doc told me: Stop eating fast food and cut your daily carbs to 100g a day. I barely met that. Staying between 100g to 150g a day, I lost 90+ pounds in about four to five months. Unfortunately, I starting eating fast food when working 15 hr days... Count carnbs subtract fiber. My doc told me not to worry about dairy but usually ate sourcream and cheese. Replace bread with low carb bread Sarah Lee 45 is 13g per pair. Replace bread with lettuce for lettuce wraps usually used Romaine lettuce. There's a boom ir two Healthy Airfyer cookbook and Keto airfryer Cookbook I have and used. I eould say try to walk everyday like an half an hour to an hour.
