Maybe he meant well and maybe he was just trying to show off for his friends, but man do I ever find it irritating when people respond to telling the basic truth with tirades about how "just because what you said is overwhelmingly true doesn't mean there's not an exception somewhere behind Mars or something and therefore you can never speak again"
