Super Grandpa saves a kid from mugging in Moscow Region

On Monday, this town in Moscow Region needed a hero, and it got one. Mikhail Makarov, a 72-year-old former security guard, saved a kid from being mugged in the middle of a street.

An 11-year-old boy was coming home from school, when a man approached him and tried to steal his phone. The boy started screaming for help, and the man ran off… or so he hoped, because super grandpa Makarov tripped the criminal up. ‘I held him as much as I could’, the hero said, ‘and then the police arrived. I had to release the guy, but gave him a bit of acceleration for the road, so to speak!’
