South Africa is gearing up for its annual commemoration of Nelson Mandela's fight for social justice and is calling on people around the world to dedicate 67 minutes of their time in service of others to honor his legacy.

The country's first Black president helped end its apartheid regime in the mid-'90s. Nelson Mandela's lifelong struggle against apartheid cost him 27 years in prison, but his relentless commitment to social justice led him to achieve his goal of racial reconciliation.

Today Johannesburg is hosting the annual 5-kilometer walk in commemoration, with the incumbent South African president set to join as well.

We had the honor to speak with author and eldest grandchild of Nelson Mandela, Ndileka Mandela.
