South Africa ruling party backs motion to shut down country’s Israeli embassy

South Africa's ruling African National Congress says it will support a motion proposed by an opposition party to close the Israeli embassy in the country.

In its statement, the ANC also backed a plan to sever ties with Jerusalem completely until it agrees to a ceasefire. A vote on the motion will be held next week.
