This is ever so butch and he-manly.

I am not a fan of being under, under ground, but shallow wide trenches - I am fine with them. I LOVE the smell of dirt, and the cold fresh air, and a nice small hot clean burning fire.

A fire is good for forcing the dampness out...

It's a pity there was not room in the man cave for you, Jesus and his 12 boy friends, as you cold have yourself quite a time in there.

I would have made the rocket stove with a small open hearth out the front of it, so as the flue heated up and began to draw, you could move your coal bed slightly out and forward of the ducting, so as to still get the smoke going up the flue, but you could get MORE radiant heat into your shelter, with a very small, low fuel consumption fire.
