Ever since I scored a god awful shit floating $2 fish filleting knife that had a tang of about 4mm wide and 0.75mm thick stainless steel blade, that broke off at the handle, I dunno - cutting a sandwich in half or something.... I have seen anything less than a thick full tang blade through the handle as a liability. https://youtu.be/G_guuLjsKxA?s....i=OfR_i404Z0VqUXnL&a
The Ka-Bar is one such knife - If I was to jam it into a crack on a cliff - and hang off the handle and my life depended upon it - would I trust it? No... that rat tail of a tang is too light and thin - I don't even like it as a regular knife design.
They are all good.... I like the Bear Grylls knives, same, same, but the serrated edge version belongs in the tool box - a folding version is best for this. I like the Bear Grylls Ultimate - The idea of a FULL tang thick blade and a handle where your hand really can't slide forward over the blade - things like that... but there might be better ones out there... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjDp8e5wsLE
