I was thinking about ohfivenineoh - or "She who shall not be named" - and for like 9 months - after we went our separate ways - I TYPED UP usually ten to twenty page letters almost on a daily basis... exorcising my and her poison from my life... "I did this, she did that, her mother went and..."

Days of our fucking lives.

I won't and will not - but I thought about dragging one of them off a hard drive somewhere and.... well I'd rather smash my self in the head with an iron pipe than have to even think about reading it...

Aversion therapy.

When I could no longer stand to read the crap I had JUST written - I had to go through that, to get a clearer perspective and to put her behind me and to get on with my life - without her.

And her fucking mother.

If they want to change, they have to want to change and follow up on doing what it takes to change.....

Ohhhhhhhh the WISDOM of hindsight.


Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh NOT MY PROBLEM - maybe a few oblique questions or tips...

But basically stay away, and if you do get tangled up in their shit - get out and stay out.

It's like the old joke of holding a cat by the tail.

You can learn things about cats, that you could not have done, in any other way.

Same thing for rescuing "damaged goods" from themselves.

Maybe catch up once in a while, in a public place, go out for coffee, tell them what you are doing about yourself, make a few low threshold questions, "And how is life coming along with you? What have you been up too lately?"

Are they in any self help groups / therapy / taking responsibility for changing their own lives? - Or is it just the same shit as usual, only a few steps deeper this time around?

There are times where it becomes obvious that they are just going from bad to worse and it's not your problem - and not only are they doing nothing to change, they don't want to change.

They are not looking for solutions.
