🕌 In this address delivered from Masjid Jamia in San Fernando, Trinidad, on the first day of Rabi’ al-Awwal 1448 AH, Sheikh Imran N. Hosein responds to reports of an expanded mutual defence arrangement involving Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey.

📘 The lecture begins by distinguishing between agreements made by governments and the views of the people they govern. Sheikh Imran argues that political agreements in the Muslim world are often concluded without meaningful consultation with the population, despite the Qur’anic principle of Shura.

🌙 A major focus of this lecture is the political alignment of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey. Sheikh Imran contrasts the policies of their governments with what he describes as the sentiments of their populations, particularly regarding the United States, Israel, NATO, and the Palestinian cause.

📖 The discussion then develops into an examination of why Saudi Arabia may have sought a broader defence arrangement.
