On the latest episode of RT's 'Sanchez Effect,' Dr. Sakwa, an emeritus professor of politics at the University of Kent, breaks down the situation on the Ukrainian front. He explains how Russia's military has taken the city of Konstantinovka but still appears to be strategically patient.

The professor outlines Moscow's deliberate focus on infrastructure rather than civilian areas, noting that casualties have remained relatively low in comparison with how Israel has been waging its wars.

Also, Dr. Sakwa critiques the current diplomatic paralysis: no talks, and no real negotiators on the American side.

The result? Kiev attacks Moscow, and finally Moscow responds, with massive strikes on the Ukrainian capital – which we examine with videos, maps and analysis by RT correspondent Roman Kosarev.

Despite the gloom, the professor underscores the existence of unofficial, back-door dialogue. He argues that a ceasefire would be bad for Russia, yet a dignified peace for Ukraine might still emerge if all parties respect their mutual security needs. Want to know more? Tune in to the latest episode, on RT International.
