In this episode of RT’s ‘Sanchez Effect’ we keep monitoring the crisis in the Middle East. Direct from Beirut, RT’s Steve Sweeney brings Rick the latest on what he called signs of an imminent invasion. Harsh bombing and direct strikes from tanks – that’s what people in Lebanon now face on a daily basis. On the major U.S. – Israeli campaign against Iran, Rick gathers a panel, bringing together Mushahid Hussain Syed, former Pakistani Minister of Information and Senator, and the second guest is Dr. Ali Al-Hail - who is a professor of Mass Communication at Qatar University. Both analysts agree on two things. First, the U.S. has betrayed its allies to focus on the protection of Israel. Second, that it is not a war of the U.S. and the Persian Gulf countries – it is a war of Benjamin Netanyahu who wants to drag every regional power into the conflict to weaken them. Professor Ali Al-Hail even says ‘We have doubts about the bombing of ARAMCO.’ He thinks Israel could carry out sabotage to create a casus belli against Iran. Former Pakistani minister Mushahid Hussain Syed agrees that this would be out of the usual Israeli playbook. He says ‘Israeli occupied territory is not the West Bank and Gaza alone. It is also the U.S. Congress and the Washington establishment.’ All this and more – on RT International.
