Russian gas company to halt supplies to Austria

Russia's Gazprom has informed OMV, the Austrian energy company, that it will suspend gas supplies. In response, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer assured citizens that measures would be taken to keep homes warm during the winter.

Meanwhile, the Czech Republic, Austria's northern neighbor, is considering a return to Russian gas imports.
