@jimbennett: This is actually how I usually stoke up plain tomato sauce, by wetting the ingredients in vinegar to a slush and then adding to the sauce... and shaking it. The price of commmercial hot chillie sauces tends to be very high for very little like $4.50 for 180 ml. Where as a kilo bag of dried hot chillie ( crushed / powder ) goes for like $12 a bag, and that makes 20 liters of really hot sauce., and decent low cost sauces to add it too go for like $3 a liter.
