That power hammer knocks like a woodpecker. Couldn't tell if these repairman were specialised in servicing this kind of equipment or jack of all trades types. The old timer had done the whole job in a leather coat! Steady hammer swing too.

Yeah in the 19th century - that's 1800 - 1900 or was it in the 1900 - 2000??? Dunno. Anyway I just cottoned onto it being a hammer specifically designed to shape and profile scythe blades. Hence the big hammer, the very short stroke and the high speed of the striking frequency... This is very much high tech shit - both the hammering and the blade chacacteristics.
