🕌 In this address delivered from Masjid Jamia in San Fernando, Trinidad, during the month of Rabi’ al-Awwal 1448 AH, Sheikh Imran N. Hosein reflects on the widespread commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and asks Muslims to move beyond expressions of love toward actually following his Sunnah.

📘 The lecture begins by clarifying Sheikh Imran’s own position on Rabi’ al-Awwal gatherings. While he does not personally organize such events, he does not condemn those who do and is willing to attend gatherings that seek to learn from the life and example of the Prophet ﷺ.

🌙 A major focus of this lecture is the difference between professing love for the Prophet ﷺ and truly following him. Sheikh Imran argues that Muslims must pay particular attention to those aspects of the Sunnah that are most relevant to the age in which they now live.

📖 The discussion then develops into the signs of the End Times. Sheikh Imran refers to Prophetic warnings concerning moral confusion, women being dressed yet appearing naked, the difficulty of holding firmly to Islam, and the emergence of forms of Shirk that may be extremely difficult to recognize.

Sheikh Imran urges Muslims not to use love for the Prophet ﷺ as a means of dividing themselves into labels such as Barelvi, Deobandi, Salafi, Shia, or other sectarian identities, but instead to seek unity around the guidance of the Qur’an and Sunnah.

⭐ The session further introduces what Sheikh Imran calls the Strategic Sunnah: the Prophetic method of examining the realities of the world, understanding hostile forces, recognizing threats to faith and Muslim unity, and responding with sound strategy. He connects this with Surah Al-Kahf, the danger of epistemological attack, and the importance of Basirah—spiritual and intellectual insight granted by Allah.
