In January 2023, a tragedy in Duxbury, Massachusetts shocked the nation. Lindsay Clancy, a labor and delivery nurse and mother of three, killed her three young children before attempting to take her own life. As her first-degree murder trial approaches, this video examines the case through a clinical lens, asking not just what happened, but why, and what it reveals about the way we treat postpartum mental illness.

Drawing on the medical record and the defense's filings, a board-certified psychiatrist walks through the months leading up to that day: a mother who sought help for postpartum anxiety and depression, and a treatment path that escalated from Zoloft to a rotating "cocktail" of psychiatric medications, Prozac, Seroquel, amitriptyline and others. as her condition worsened rather than improved.
