Back in the 60's my Dad never locked is car nobody did. I hope this guy recovered. when i had a car and I was a postman so I had early starts I would start the car to let it warm up in the winter days that is, but I had a spare key I would use to lock the car whilst it was warming up. most modern car's and even motorcycles don't even need warming up these day's with this engine management stuff. Mind you in the cold mornings My Royal enfield would get an engine light warning though there was nothing wrong, the sensor needed remapping and it's solved now with a new map on the software when it had it's first full service back i8n the summer. Been Ok so far.

@SoloMan Zone: With Opra's Purple Drink no doubt! lol! I used to cover my Wingscreen in the winter and put Methylated spirit on it before I did that way the cover didn't freeze to the scream. I remeber my Cousin Peggy who came from Canada used to plug a thing into her car unde3r the hood that kept the engine just warm enough not to freeze. That was way back when she was a girl in the 1930's i think she had a Buick? she died in the early 1990's at the grand old age of almost 94. /that's another thing about being alone at /Christmas, I always think of and remeber them all and drink a toast to all my departed family for the great Childhood christmas's they gave all us kid's, bless them all, and bless you my friend at this holiday time. peace.

@mrghoster: Yep Canadian still plug their cars and trucks in at night as sometimes it goes down to 45-50 below. I spent quite a few Xmas in Thailand and it was just another day. I like Xmas in Canada as always had the snow which makes a better Xmas

@SoloMan Zone: You were in Thailand, and you did not have "White" Crhistmases? Sounds like you did it wrong..., but I agree snowy Christmas is fun until you have to drive around... to like relatives, work, and shit...
