Yep, they always play on emotional femons. Years ago I was listening to a radio talk show host who was discussing a proposed change to a regulation allowing feral cats to be shot if they threaten livestock. For those who don't know, feral cats are frighteningly viscous. When the lines opened up he got quite a few calls from old bags on the verge of hysterics. They seemed to think that if it passed there would be pick-up trucks roaming the suburbs with the beds full of pot-bellied, rifle toting hillbillies just waiting for their kitty cats to be let outside. Unhinged.
