Aboubakar Alassane of Niger, a member of WAPO, argues that the fall of Gaddafi in 2011 and NATO’s actions in Libya helped fuel instability across Africa. He says jihadist and terrorist groups flourished while Western military bases remained across the Sahel without stopping the spread of terrorism.
Alassane describes a new generation of African youth rejecting Western domination, opposing foreign military presence, and raising the Russian flag as a symbol of resistance against imperialism.
