New Scams to Watch Out For in 2023

Dude they're getting pretty damn creative, and I think it's only become much easier for them to scam people. I think the only reason why I've been able to ignore all the scams that come my way, is simply due to not using my email like I should LOL pretty much everything that gets sent to me is either ignored for years or I just don't open them cuz I know their ads, but even the ones that are ads can also hold malware or some kind of scam. I had to break my dad out of using stupid service that's complete and utter crap called something Clearing House I can't remember exactly, all I know is it's like this service that pretends that you can win money, and all they really do from you is just take your information and send you endless ads and endless gambling mechanics I guess you could put it that way, now he said he never put money into it, and I hope not because sometimes my dad will lie, like it's kind of funny cuz he's really careful about everything else like when it comes to his social or when it comes to credit card or debit card information, but when it comes to using oh it's Publishers Clearing House, he'll give them all the information like a f****** idiot. I had to get in his face out over this, I got him to stop for a little while, but then he just went back to it because he's addicted to feeling like he's winning even though 0% of the time he ever wins anything. I think Publishers Clearing House is a scam, I don't care how many videos they show you of somebody winning where you live, I think it's all bull crap, I have never known anyone in my life to win those things anyone I know personally nobody has won them, which means it's b*******. I think I got him to eventually stop, but he had some chats with his therapist and his therapist recommended that he just go back to it because he tends to feel better when he plays this obvious bull crap game meant to steal his time and money if he ever sends any, oh man it's crazy too, because my dad comes from a religion or it says gambling is forbidden, and technically he's not gambling, but he sure is gambling his time away when he uses that website in my opinion. I feel like my dad just needs other Hobbies ones that are actually fulfilling.

@KEEPER: PCH used to have a competitor, American Family Publishers, who did the same thing, until they got busted by either ABC or CBS, throwing a bunch of mail-in "entries" into a dumpster. One of the guys selling the concept was Ed McMahon. Don't know your age, but he was sidekick to "NBC's The Tonight Show's Johnny Carson", back in the day. Really screwed up his credibility up until he died. I'm with you; I still don't know how PCH has stayed in business this long, but some aspects of certain governments have become scams as well.

@sauger1001: is that the same Ed McMahon that owned the WWF? Or is that another Ed McMahon?

@sauger1001: I'm 36 by the way, but I know who Johnny Carson was, I've seen a few of his shows little clips of his shows anyways, he was like the Jay Leno of his time.

@KEEPER: No, that's Vince McMahon. Not sure if they were related. Carson was one of the longest running hosts of The Tonight Show. Funny af. Jay Leno was also pretty funny. Lol. After him, the show went into the crapper. With the exception of some sports, I don't watch much TV anymore, so I'm not sure who now is the host.

"Politics" pushed Leno out of the position. Dude was good at what he did, but liberal democrooks hated him, so he got the boot.

@sauger1001: which is hilarious because conservatives love him. The funny thing is early in his career I mean Leno, earlier in his career he was kind of more of a liberal, but with time he's become more conservative. But that's fine, that's typically what happens anyway, because typically when you're young you're liberal and as you age and understand the world a little bit better you become more conservative, but it's also based off of your life and the environment that you grow up in, I mean if you're someone who grows up in the hood, typically you're going to be Democrat because Democrats always offer the free crap and everyone loves free crap, even if that free crap comes at the expense of others who happen to be working in the working class who also so happened to be conservative LOL it's funny how this system works. Anyway so I got the Ed McMahon wrong, my bad. I didn't know about the other McMahon that must have been before my time I mean obviously it was before my time, but there's a lot of things that are before my time that I've tried to learn about. That's one thing that you'll notice about me I'll try to pay attention to things that are before my time because in many ways people in those days still talked about the same things we talked about but they had a different set of challenges and they had a different kind of viewpoint because of the reality they grew up in. But you'll find me watching old shows and actually enjoying some old shows, my dad actually interested me into a show called Airwolf, and that's a pretty cool show I actually really like it, and of course there's the old MacGyver show but I like that before my dad told me about it, I even like Knight Rider, I tend to like science fictiony stuff. But my dad also got me to watch a really old show, called Mr Ed it's a black and white TV show that's about a man and his horse, apparently the horse talks LOL. So that shows really before my time, I think it's even before my dad's time he was born in 1950, but anyway I'm getting off topic aren't I, your turn.

@KEEPER: I remember Mr. Ed, back when most sitcoms were actually funny, yet got the message through to the audience. Shows were better back in the day. JMO. So much so that many of them still on the classic TV channels like MeTV, Antenna TV, Retro TV, and even free apps like PlutoTV. I dumped my DirecTV 13yrs ago bc most of the programming was pure excrement, imo. Free TV is much better. Plus the pay TV companies are totally corrupt. When cable TV came out in the early '80s, their shtick was "no commercials". Now, they show as many as free TV, so why bother paying? Lol.
