Years ago I bought a 8 lbs exercise bar, aprox 4 ft long. It's great for slow-motion sword strength training. ALOT of control is learned using it. Are you going to get into different styles of sword use and different swords are used differently?

That's not how the sword is actually taught mate. You'd better empty your cup of everytihng you know, or think you know. Otherwise you won't learn anything from any of my new channels lessons.

What you have to understand abut the sword is this. Proper cutting is proper cutting. Proper thrusting is proper thrusting. It's not nearly so complicated as you've been led to believe. Besides some very specialized types of swords that have much more unique properties in how they are wielded, i.e exceptions, generally speaking the way is the way. Sadly the vast amount of so called "styles" of sword use have not been put to the same rigor that traditional empty hand martial arts have via sports like MMA, that show almost all the be rather useless in real combat, minus bits and pieces here and there that you can incorporate into something more practical. You need to be very wary of the preconceived notions you have in regards to a "styled" approach to martial endeavors. Such tends to blind one from the very truth of what works, and what does not.
