His first apprentice Darth Maul supposedly died during the 1st prequel movie so he started training a 2nd apprentice Darth Tyrannus AKA Count Dooku who was a major villain in the 2nd prequel movie and died at the beginning of the 3rd prequel. Darth Vader was his 3rd and final apprentice since Darth Vader killed him to save Luke at the end of the original trilogy. Darth Vader also trained apprentices behind his master's back btw Starkiller was the 1st one. He ended up creating the Rebel Alliance in the Force Unleashed game and Darth Lumiya was the 2nd one. Lumiya waited in the shadows until the time was right and the she corrupted Han Solo and Princess Leia's oldest son Jacen Solo turning him into Darth Caedus

@WMHarrison94: It should but it isn't. Sadly Disney is keeping their claws on the Expanded Universe so that they can ripoff concepts from it for their movies. An example would be how Ben Solo AKA Kylo Ren is a ripoff of Jacen Solo AKA Darth Caedus.
