Moment hero cop revives baby after car crash

Bodycam footage has been published of Charlotte County Deputy Sgt. Dave Musgrove attending the scene of a crash on February 8, involving a motorcycle and a car. Upon arriving at the car, Musgrove found a mom and two kids and leapt into action. He pulled one child from the wreckage and flagged down a passing driver to hold her while he rescued the second child – an unconscious baby, not breathing.

As the mom looked on in distress, Musgrove kept his cool and performed CPR on the baby. Eventually 6-month-old Lola started breathing, at which point paramedics arrived and took over.
The baby’s grandmother said the family will never forget Musgrove’s actions. ‘He will forever be our hero. We will never repay him for what he did, because what he did for us was life changing.’
