Mexico volcano spews lava and ash in series of eruptions

Mexico's Popocatepetl volcano has sent lava and volcanic gases into the air in a series of explosions. The National Center for Prevention of Disasters registered eight moderate and five minor eruptions on Monday. More than 200 belches of steam, volcanic gases, and ash were detected coming from the volcano, some 70 kilometers southeast of Mexico City.
